Let’s just clarify one thing from the outset. For digital photography, UV filters make no difference to image quality, in fact it will degrade your image quality very slightly. In the spirit of photography, this of course being a camera accessory (and other cool stuff) store, and the fact that, by a stroke of shear coincidence, I happen to be a photographer, I will, from time to time post tips and tricks, fun facts or just a photo for the fun of it!
So to kick things off, I shall start with a blurry image! Why on earth would I do that? Well it's to make the point that photography is all about telling a story. It is NOT about the technical aspects of a photograph, although they have their place.
In this image, Cal Crutchlow separated from his bike and became acquainted with the runoff at Phillip Island. He had a tumultuous year last year in MotoGP, from sliding on his backside and taking 5th at the Island to podium at Argentina taking him to the top in the world ranking – Cal was the first Brit to lead the standings since Barry Sheene.
The image is part of a series but on its own, as blurry as it is, it tells a story. And that's what makes a good image.
